If you are a student or young professional who held a paid internship/training position with an American company or organization within the last calendar year, you must file your taxes with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of the US Government, as well as with the state you resided in. The good news is that you may be eligible for a tax refund!
Due to US tax treaties with several countries, J-1 Visa Interns and Trainees are exempt from Federal Unemployment, Medicare, Social Security, Federal, and most State and Local Income taxes. At the beginning of your training, your host company provided you with a W-4 Form. The IRS used the information you indicated on this form to calculate the taxes to be withheld from your wages/stipend. In the event that these taxes have mistakenly been deducted, you can claim a refund when you file your taxes.

Be aware that the deadline to file your tax refund is the 15th of April in every calendar year.
Fees
By filling out the form below and choosing "I want to purchase the tax refund service," you are entering into a binding agreement with us. The terms and conditions for this agreement are as follows:
- The total processing fee for our tax refund service is 10% of your overall refund with a minimum amount of 75 Euro.
- After we receive the necessary documentation from you, we will calculate the estimated amount of your eligible tax refund.
- You will then receive an invoice with the relevant processing fee according to our estimated tax-refund calculations. Payment is due within 7 days.
- At the same time, we will also send you instructions in how to proceed with the necessary documents, as all of them require original signatures.
In the event that you filed all documents properly with the IRS and your tax refund claim has only partially been granted, we will reimburse you the overpaid amount after verification with the IRS. Essentially, this means that you will under no circumstances pay more than 10% of your actual refund or a minimum of 75 Euros.
